The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority has opened applications for 16 Trainee Executive posts in Islamabad, split across three streams: Technical, Legal and Finance. All are grade E-1, all run on a one-year contract, and all close on 4 September 2026.
Vacancies
Ten of the sixteen seats are for engineers, two go to law graduates, and four to finance candidates. Here’s the split:
| Post | Vacancies | Max Age |
|---|---|---|
| Trainee Executive (Technical) | 10 | 30 years |
| Trainee Executive (Legal) | 2 | 30 years |
| Trainee Executive (Finance) | 4 | 30 years |
Each post also carries its own provincial quota. Technical seats are divided as Merit 3, Punjab 2, Sindh 3, KP/Ex-FATA 1, Balochistan 1. Legal is Merit 1 and Sindh 1. Finance is Merit 2, Punjab 1, Sindh 1.
Eligibility Criteria
The technical post wants a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, recognized by HEC and PEC, since it’s an engineering degree. For law, OGRA will take a Bar-at-Law, LLM, LLB, or LLB (Hons) from a recognized university, at home or abroad. Finance candidates need CA (Inter), ICMA (Inter), an MBA in Finance, or a 16-year BBA-Finance (Hons).
Fresh graduates can apply across all three. If you’ve already got a year or two of relevant work behind you, that counts in your favour but isn’t a requirement. Age is capped at 30 for everyone.
Terms & Conditions
This isn’t a permanent hire, at least not at the outset. Trainees go on a one-year contract with fixed monthly pay, and OGRA can extend it a second year if performance holds up. There’s no promise of a permanent slot afterward, though the advertisement does note that strong performers may be considered for regular vacancies down the line.
A few other conditions worth knowing before you apply: candidates already working in government or semi-government roles need to route their application through proper channel, and will have to resign if selected. No travel or interview allowance is paid. And OGRA has kept the right to scrap the whole process or reject any application without explanation.

Required Documents
- Typed application form (download it from OGRA’s site)
- One passport-size photo
- Attested copies of your degrees and certificates
- Experience certificates, if you have any
- CNIC copy
- Domicile certificate
How to Apply
Grab the form from www.ogra.org.pk, fill it in, typed is preferred over handwritten and attach the documents above. Government employees should send theirs through proper channel. Then post the whole package to:
HR Department, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Head Office)
Plot No. 37 & 39, Mauve Area, Service Road South, Sector G-10/4, Islamabad
Phone: 051-9108890-98
Since this only works by post, give yourself a buffer before the deadline, an application that arrives even a day late won’t be considered. Only shortlisted candidates will hear back for a test or interview.
Application Deadline
4 September 2026, and that’s the date it needs to land at OGRA’s office, not the date you drop it in the mail.
