Lahore Traffic Police has arranged driving training for students of the CM Punjab E Bike Scheme. Five dedicated driving schools have been established in Lahore to provide practical training to students on how to ride bikes.
This facility will be available for both male and female students. The purpose of the training is to prepare students for safe driving and for the driving license process.
Students can practice riding at these training schools. Available locations include Abshar Driving School, Liberty Khidmat Markaz, Greater Iqbal Park, Traffic Police Lines Manawan, and LOS Ferozepur Road.
Students are instructed to visit the designated center with their CNIC for training. Lahore Traffic Police have also allocated scooter counters at testing centers, where students can receive guidance on the licensing process.
Over 125,000 electric bikes are being provided to students under the second phase of the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme. The Punjab Government has also decided to eliminate the down payment to keep the scheme affordable for students, with the monthly installment reportedly set at around Rs 3,000.
Under the scheme, the Punjab Government will bear the interest and insurance costs of the bikes. Helmets and safety equipment will also be provided free of charge to students, while plans for free two-day driving training for e-bike recipients have also been announced.
According to the official scheme information from the Punjab Government, the focus of the e-bike program is to provide affordable and environmentally friendly transportation to students. An official portal for applications is also available, where eligible students can check scheme details.
