Qualifications and Experience
The Additional Director General post requires a Ph.D. in one of the advertised subjects, an M.Sc. in the relevant field, seven years of relevant work experience and 7 publications in relevant peer reviewed journals.
For Director Forensic, applicants must have a relevant Ph.D. and 7 years of experience in a forensic laboratory of international repute.
Most Forensic Scientist posts need 3 years of relevant experience in an accredited forensic laboratory. The accepted degrees vary by discipline. Chemistry is specified for Latent Finger Print, for example, while Polygraph accepts the listed psychology qualifications.
Photography has two qualification routes. Applicants with the specified MS or M.Phil. need three years of relevant laboratory experience. Those applying with a Master in Fine Arts in Graphic Design need five years.
The Pathology & Histology posts have separate medical qualification routes. The required experience depends on whether the applicant holds the specified Level II or Level III postgraduate qualification.
For Junior Forensic Scientist (Narcotics), Pharm D with second division is an accepted qualification. Other junior posts require the science, engineering or computing degrees listed against them.
DNA & Serology applicants must meet an additional coursework condition. Both qualification routes require four credit hours each in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry and Population Statistics.
Only completed qualifications will be accepted. Applicants whose final transcript has not been issued are not eligible under this advertisement. Foreign degree holders must provide an HEC equivalence certificate.
